Professional communications such as email reminder on upcoming appointment and prompt invoice receipt via email throughout the project. There was a mixed-up with scheduling, Troy took action quickly in resolving it by doing the repair himself. Crew didn't clean up well that day but management was responsive and sent someone back out a couple days later. Only issue was some scuffs on the siding weren't completely removed.
I was selling my townhouse and the roof came up during the home inspection. I called several companies and received comparable quotes from each, but decided to go with RM Banning. I'm glad I did. Dan, who estimated the job for me, was knowledgeable and gave me an approximate time frame for completion (1-2 weeks). This was an important aspect since closing was scheduled to happen in 3 weeks. After I put down my 1/3 deposit, they ended up having am opening in the schedule and were able to replace the roof within a week's time. The work took less than a day and the crew worked well. They took pictures and provided me with the invoice & warranty documentation I needed for closing. Invoicing and everything else behind the scenes was handled via email with Angela, the office manager. She was also very pleasant to work with and provided great customer service when I need the additional documents/info for settlement. Overall, the quality of work and customer service was exceptional. If in the future, my new home needs some roofing work, I would happily use R.M. Banning again.
Removed and replaced roof, including new plywood and water-resistant membrane under the shingles, for my 8' X 10' wooden shed in the back yard. They arrived within a week of when I accepted their proposal. They would have arrived sooner, but worked me in between rain storms. Crew arrived and started work with all materials needed. They talked to me about the job to ensure they were going to do the work I had contracted for. They worked steadily and completed the work plus clean-up in one day. I watched them throughout their process, and noted they used new materials, including replacing two pieces of structural wood due to rot that were not part of the quotation. All materials were applied correctly.I watched them lay the membrane down on top of the wood before applying shingles. They used four nails per shingle, an industry standard. Clean-up was done well, and both workmen were pleasant and easy to talk with.

R.M. Banning performed a complex, custom skylight replacement that involved a 32 ft. row of skylights. He installed 7 Velux curb mounted skylights in custom built frames. Those frames were installed in an opening in the roof that RM Banning rebuilt and improved, making the structure significantly stronger and safer. Overall we are thrilled with the results. In addition, we were happy with the entire process. As background, we contacted several companies about replacing the worn skylights but none were as knowledgeable or experienced as RM Banning. Multiple companies noted that the custom work would be "too complicated." RM Banning was enthusiastic about the challenge; he showed up on time for appointments; and was professional. RM Banning presented us with a detailed plan, which included a timeline for the work. This was in stark contrast to another business, who wanted to cut out the existing skylights, cover the hole with plywood and then figure out the supplies needed. The difficult project was completed in three days by a professional and hardworking crew lead by Kevin. They arrived on time, cleaned up everything at the end of the day, and were courteous. The skylights look great and we are sure that they will last for a long time.

A storm caused a portion of our siding to come loose. I contacted the company on 4/1 and an in-person estimate was provided on 4/2. The repair was completed on 4/3. Because the siding was still attached (barely) there was an urgency in having the work completed. During the estimate, I explained that we recently purchased our home, and while we would like to replace the siding in the future, it's not in our budget at this time. At no time was I pressured to replace the siding, or for any other work other than the scope of the repair. We will however use R.M. Banning when we do replace our siding. Great service!

That is above and beyond service and you just don't find that kind of service much anymore. Thank you RM Banning! In addition, Mr. Banning stopped by multiple times to ensure work was going well and sent me up to date information. I contacted R. M. Banning in November about two estimates: one for repairing some damaged siding before the onset of winter weather and, if necessary, an estimate for vinyl siding for the whole house. Rich Banning is the only contractor (of four) who listened and responded to my request for repairs to seal the house before the winter. He did not push for more extensive and expensive work than necessary to get through the winter weather.
Since Rich was willing to provide the repairs, he agreed with me that we should wait until spring for the estimates on the more extensive vinyl siding on the house. That allows me time to evaluate the proposals and costs while waiting for better weather conditions for doing the outdoor work. I also appreciated the conversations with the office to confirm times, forward information and estimates, and follow up calls to ask about satisfaction with the work performed.
I will contact Rich Banning when we are ready to do the more extensive siding work.

R.M. Banning was quick to respond and schedule someone to come do the inspection. They actually came the very next day after I contacted them. The technician who came, Steve Ford, was very professional, courteous, and took the time to explain what he would do. I told him what the gutter cleaner had said and that I had noticed the lip of the roof raised a bit on one edge. Steve conducted a thorough inspection and told me that although that edge was a bit raised, it didn't pose a problem. He further stated that he had inspected the entire roof and found no issues. He went so far as to let me know that the roof looked like it still had about seven years of life to it. He could have tried to sell me on repairs or on a new roof, but he did not. He was honest and took the time to answer my questions. Banning is a company I would definitely come to in the future for work. Based on this transaction, I would trust them to do the right work needed and to be complete professionals.

Prior to the contract on the home, the previous owners already had another roofing company "repair" the roof to fix certain leaks. After we were under contract (but before closing), we had to bring in a second roofing company to "repair" the roof because the leaks had not stopped. After closing, the leaks continued -- and, finally, we found the right company (RM Banning). They came in, did a full assessment, were very responsive to all our questions, and came up with the right plan to fix the roof once and for all. Most importantly, their execution was great -- the leaks have all stopped! From the owner to the project manager to the office administrative staff, we could not have asked for anything more. The price might have been slightly on the high side, but it was more than worth it. We will never call another roofing company -- RM Banning has a customer for life!

Rich Banning came out and evaluated my roof, gutters and siding and determined that there was roof and gutter damage from the hail storm which occurred in June 2015. He suggested I contact my insurance agent to see if I should file a claim. The insurance agent came out to the house and agreed with the assessment and issued a check on the spot.
Mr. Banning brought out samples of shingles and explained the process to restore the roof as well as the options which were available to us. Another gentleman came out the next day to determine the color of the gutter system to be replaced. Materials were ordered and delivered within a couple of days. Mr. Banning called to let us know ahead of time that the delivery was scheduled. Materials were delivered on time without a hitch.
After a couple of days of rain Mr. Banning informed us of the start date and everything was done efficiently and the workers were very careful to not make a mess with the demolition of the roof as we have a pool in the back yard and didn't want any debris to fall into the pool.
The day after the roof was completed the men came out to install the gutter system and did an outstanding job with the installation and cleaned up any and all materials and debris.
RM Banning Roofing was very professional and considerate of our needs and we would recommend this company to everyone.

They replaced the roof shingles on my house. The work involved removing the existing shingles, replacing several sheets of deteriorated plywood roof sheeting, and installing new drip caps, underlayment, shingles, and vent caps. They also replaced the chimney flashing and vent pipe collars. I contacted a couple of other roofing contractors as well as RM Banning but found Banning to be the most responsive and offering the best price. Rich (the owner) did exactly what was promised when I contacted them. He showed up at my house exactly when he said he would be there, he provided the estimate to me within several days as promised, the estimate was clear and appropriately detailed (including a plan drawing of the roof with quantities), and his price was reasonable. Rich also provided literature on the product that he proposed to install and provided documentation of his contractor's license and other professional certification along with a list of references for other jobs he's performed in the area. When the time came to schedule the actual work, they worked with me to establish a workable date. We had to postpone the work briefly because of weather considerations which turned out to be the right decision. Rich insisted that the forecast call for clear weather for two days in the event that something unforeseen, like having to replace more plywood sheeting than expected, would require a second day to finish the work. As it turned out, only one day was needed. The crew showed up on time. Rich's crew foreman, Oscar, was easy to work with and answered any questions or concerns I had. The work was done efficiently and professionally. And the crew did a very good job cleaning up around the house afterwards. Also, the office staff was very pleasant to work with, provided excellent coordination throughout, and quickly sent me confirmation documentation for my down payment and final payment. All told I'm very pleased with my experience with RM Banning. They operate in a very professional manner and Rich does exactly what he says he will. I would happily hire them again.

Mr. Banning came to provide the estimate and went up on the roof as part of his initial visit. I received a call back from the office to see if I had any questions after receiving the estimate. It was several months after the estimate was given until we decided to have the work done. The cost remained the same. The only unknown was if or how much plywood may have to be replaced. The crew that came to do the work was courteous and professional. The work took an extra day because of the plywood that needed to be replaced. The job ended up taking 21/2 days. They cleaned up after themselves after each day of work. Mr. Banning came once the job was completed to make sure we were satisfied with the results. We are pleased with the look of the new roof and would recommend him to others.
The removal of the roofing went well and the foreman of the crew was so sensitive to my concern that the roofing materials would damage the bushes in front of the house that he built a box of sorts to cover the bushes. I was very impressed with that. Rich Banning was around a lot to see how things were going and how I thought things were going. He answered all of my questions before and after I signed the contract for the work. When it was discovered that the dormer framing needed rebuilding, the carpenter that Rich brought in did a very thorough rebuild. The clean up was also very thorough from roofing materials to nails.

We had RM Banning look at our roof several years ago and they said we probably had 5-7 years left on it so we waited (5 stars for honesty). A little over five years later we had them install a new roof which including fixing several other roofing issues which we were aware of. Their price was very competitive, they started fairly quickly, took their time to finish and do a great job in brutal summer heat, and were professional and a pleasure to work with. Their customer service is outstanding.
R.M. Banning Roofing just replaced our townhome roof and wrapped all of our exposed wood. They had previously diagnosed and fixed a leak that other contractors would not even try to diagnose. When it was time to replace the roof Banning was our first call, they were very prompt, professional and attentive to our needs and concerns. When the project was completed Rich came over to inspect the work himself and to make sure we were very happy with his company's work and we were very happy with the finished product.
